The PACK program provides academic support to students outside of the regular classroom during the school day in hopes of cutting down on the time students have to attend tutoring outside of school hours.

PACK tutoring occurs in an academic support classroom that provides a learning environment conducive to the needs of each student participating in the program. The classroom is also available for the students to have a quiet working environment to complete tests, etc. The tutoring is provided through the PACK director, a certified teacher, paid tutors from Faulkner University, and hand selected PCA students.   Each student has a written plan to aid the tutor and classroom teacher in providing the modifications and guidance the student needs on a daily basis to help them reach their full potential. The PACK Director will communicate with teachers and tutors on a weekly basis, as well as keep parents updated on their student’s progress.

Jr. High/ Senior High Tutoring

Level 1: Testing Accommodations, $50/ month. This level is for the student who doesn’t need tutoring, but would benefit from a quiet, distraction-free setting. This level would also allow additional time for test-taking if the student struggles with time constraints. In addition, this level would facilitate oral testing as a testing modification.

Level 2: One Subject, One Day per Week, $80/month. This level is for the student who only needs help with one subject. At this level, the tutor will pull the student out of one of the following classes one day per week: Bible, PE, or the particular subject area. This level also allows for testing in PACK for that subject area.

Level 3: Full-time PACK, 5 days per week for a dedicated class period, $200/month. At this level, if the student’s PACK period counts for their Bible credit, one day per week will be dedicated to Bible instruction and weekly personalized lesson-planning, with the following four days for one-on-one or two-on-one tutoring in any subject. This level is for the student who not only needs help in subject areas, but would also benefit from personal organization and accountability. This level allows for testing in PACK for any subject area.

Middle School/ Elementary Tutoring

Middle School and Elementary tutoring, $150/month. For the elementary students, this tutoring will occur solely on a “pull-out” basis during their auxiliary classes. This means the tutor will “pull-out” the student 3 days/ week for 30 minute individual tutoring sessions. The middle school students will come for tutoring two class periods per week out of one of their auxiliary classes. The tutoring can be in any subject and can vary depending on the student’s needs. The student can also take tests in the PACK room as needed.
