PCA ELEMENTARY PHYSICAL EDUCATION


Elementary P.E. courses use SPARK curriculum: PreK-2 and 3-6.  This curriculum is developed based on national physical education standards and is research based on children's development and abilities. 

SPARK Physical Education was designed to encourage maximum participation during class time. Active participation and practice in a positive, non-threatening atmosphere, are the means for improving children's physical skills, fitness, social development, and personal enjoyment.

SPARK Physical Education for primary grades offers instruction and practice in a realistic number of diverse skills and activities appropriate for kindergarten through second grade children. The curriculum is designed to introduce standards-based, developmentally appropriate activities without overwhelming students or teachers.

SPARK Physical Education offers instruction and practice in a realistic number of diverse skills and activities appropriate for third through sixth grade children. The curriculum present a variety of standards-based and developmentally appropriate lessons that don't overwhelm students or teachers. Repetition within classes and units allows students to develop sufficient skills so they become comfortable with an activity.

Jennifer Coburn

Jennifer is the elementary P.E. aide. She is from Tuscaloosa, but has lived in the Prattville area for a while.  She has two children that attend PCA, Tess and Ivey.  Her hobbies include photography and traveling with her family.  Jennifer says what she loves about PCA is the Christian family and that her kids love it here.  She's able to pray and speak of God all the time.  Her favorite scripture is Psalms 62:1-2.
        Allen Stuart

Allen is our PreK-6th grade P.E. teacher.  He has a degree in Health and Physical Education from Auburn University Montgomery and is originally from Union Springs, AL.  He is married with two sons.  Allen enjoys fishing, watching and playing sports of all kinds.  He loves the faculty at PCA.  His favorite part of the Bible is the story of David and Goliath.
