PRATTVILLE CHRISTIAN ACADEMY ELEMENTARY MUSIC PROGRAM

In music, students will work on building a pyramid to musical success.  All ages learn the importance of music theory, correct breathing and diction as well as music terminology.  These skills get us on our way to singing as a group and/or playing certain instruments such as hand bells and the recorder.  We also spend time on music appreciation and discerning the sound of different instruments found in an orchestra.  We try to incorporate a lot of fun activities to enhance our learning such as Music Olympics and other exciting games.  My hope is that your child will learn to enjoy and explore music in my class as well as years to come.  All students PreK3 through 6th grade go to Music once a week for 45 minutes.

ELEMENTARY MUSIC TEACHER

Mrs. Liza Peterson

Liza Peterson is Prattville Christian Academy’s Music Teacher.  She graduated
 from Auburn University with a degree in Journalism/Public Relations.  Liza is from
Prattville and is married with two children.  Her hobbies are golf, singing in a Swing
band, cooking casseroles as a side business and any activities with her children.
Liza enjoys exploring everyone’s opinions about music and experiencing a multitude
 of talents at P.C.A.  Her favorite Bible verse is Mark 12:29-32.  “The most important
one” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one;
love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind
and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself,.’
There is no greater commandment than these.”  “Well said, teacher,” the man
replied, “You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him.”
