PRATTVILLE CHRISTIAN ACADEMY ELEMENTARY ART

It is the focus of the visual arts program at PCA to encourage artistic creativity and increase knowledge in the arts at each grade level. The educational goals of this program include an understanding of the basic elements of art, as well as, an appreciation of art history. Through a combination of projects that focus on improving skills, to artistic endeavors that study the styles of the great masters, students will experience a variety of techniques and creative challenges. All in all, the program offers a well rounded support for all students to participate and fully learn appreciation for visual art and its impact on the world around us. Among the greatest importance of the PCA art program is to inspire creative thinking and promote confidence and individuality in each student. 

PreK and Kindergarten:  Students are ntroduced to terms and increase skills through age appropriate art projects and seasonal crafts.

Grades 1st – 3rd:  Students experiment with more difficult techniques and elements in art.

Grades 4th – 6th: Students work with more in depth projects and a more focused view of art history.

Elementary students attend art class once a month for a hour and a half. 

ELEMENTARY ART TEACHER

Mrs. Marilyn Bullard

Prattville Christian Academy is happy to have Marilyn Bullard teaching Art to our K-3 thru sixth grade.  She graduated from Auburn University, Montgomery with a Bachelor of Fine Art/Minor in Sociology.  Marilyn was born and raised in Selma, Alabama.  She is married and has three precious children.  Her hobbies are painting, drawing, scrapbooking, shopping, watching movies with her family and camping.  The cheerful atmosphere with strong Christian principles infused in all aspects of education is what she loves at P.C.A.  Hebrews 11:1 is her favorite Bible verse.  “Faith is being sure of what we hope for.  It is being certain of what we do not see.”
