Dear Friend:

There are a number of educational opportunities available to young people in our area, and it is our hope that you will find PCA to be the right choice for you and your family. Let us take this opportunity to tell you who we are, where we’ve been, and where we are going.

Prattville Christian Academy is a private, independently incorporated organization dedicated solely to providing academic excellence in a caring Christian environment. All faculty and staff are faithful Christians. Prattville Christian Academy is not under the direction of any church but is controlled by an independent board of Christian directors. |
Unlike some private schools, our funding does not come from a large foundation or a single group that dictates our decisions. Instead, we are exclusively funded by tuition and fees gathered from students and by private donations from people like you who are interested in developing a strong Christian school in our area. This helps us to be more flexible and responsive to the needs immediately facing our students and their families.
Our mission at PCA is to glorify God by inspiring qualified students to excel academically, physically, and spiritually, thereby preparing them for future success, whether in higher education or other endeavors. The children of today will be the leaders of tomorrow, and our aim is to make the world of tomorrow a place that is full of hope and security.
Prattville Christian Academy is committed to building faith in God, love of His Word, and respect for His creation. We are committed to providing a quality, Christ-centered, Bible-based education in a caring Christian environment, with emphasis on the individual and the importance of the family. We are committed to preparing qualified students for future success without preference to gender, race, or national origin.
We seek to nurture the spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth of each student. We believe that learning in a Christian environment helps to fulfill not only academic needs, but also promotes self-awareness, confidence, and a strong conviction to live for God. These qualities are hallmarks of the well-adjusted child and it is what we strive for at PCA every day.
Accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and the Alabama Independent School Association differentiates PCA from many other private schools in the area. Credits earned at PCA are completely transferable to any other public school as well as colleges/universities.
Caring, state-certified teachers are foremost among the many benefits that a PCA education can provide. PCA has been blessed to attract the interest of some of the most talented and devoted teachers in this area. From this group, we have chosen those teachers whose hearts and minds were most completely focused on helping children to obtain maximum results not only in the classroom, but also in life. Much has been asked of this faculty and they have delivered every time. With a tremendous combination of youth and experience, we believe that our teachers are second to none.
The PCA course of study uses various curriculums including traditional classes in math, language arts, social studies, and science. We utilize recognized curriculum taught with a Christian perspective, which demonstrates quality and structural flexibility. In addition to core academics, PCA offers instruction in physical education and the liberal arts, such as music, art, drama, and foreign language. Bible class, as well as chapel, is part of each student’s day. Prattville Christian Academy does not offer a special education program.
Our Counseling Center is one of the finest in the area and is staffed by a licensed social worker with a master’s degree. It provides both counseling and guidance services to all students with an emphasis on college preparation for graduating seniors.
Computer technology provides PCA students with opportunities that are unparalleled in the Autauga-Elmore area. We are pleased to offer the "Futurekids" curriculum, whereby students are guided by a specially trained, state-certified instructor in areas such as word processing, internet education and research, database creation, and publishing. This unique program is designed to enhance learning for students at every level, in conjunction with the academic curriculum set forth by the teachers. The program is offered on a weekly basis, and the computer lab is also available during the week for individual enrichment, composition, and research. Dr. Mac Adkins, a member of the PCA Board of Directors, provides leadership in the area of the integration of technology into the curriculum. Dr. Adkins was one of the authors of The Alabama Course of Study: Technology which is used by all public schools in the state of Alabama.
Athletics are a very important part of our goal of nurturing the overall development of PCA students. PCA offers daily physical education classes for all students. In the fall months, students participate in the rigorous Presidential Fitness Testing, the goal of which is to test and improve the total physical fitness of students. As a member of the Alabama Independent School Association Conference, PCA also offers interscholastic athletic competition for boys and girls in the 7th through 12th grades in such sports as football, volleyball, basketball, soccer, softball, baseball, golf, and track. Prattville Christian Academy is quickly building a reputation for fielding spirited and successful athletic teams.
Our location provides easy access from most anywhere in the Prattville/Millbrook area and is just minutes from Montgomery, Clanton, and Wetumpka.
Conveniently yet quietly located on Old Farm Lane just off I-65 and in between Highway 14 and Cobbs Ford Road, our facility provides a safe and efficient academic environment.
An investment into the life of a young person yields countless benefits for years to come. The cost of a quality education is in some ways more than the cost of a mediocre education, but in other ways, it is much less. A solid education can be obtained at many of the schools in our area, but after comparing the cost-to-benefit ratio at PCA, our conviction to provide a quality education at a reasonable and competitive price has been reaffirmed.
