The Mission of PCA
Prattville Christian Academy is a private, independently incorporated organization dedicated solely to providing Christian education and related services in the Prattville/Millbrook area. Prattville Christian Academy is independently run by a nine-person school board and is not led, managed or funded by any one Church.
It is the mission of Prattville Christian Academy to glorify God by inspiring qualified students to excel academically, physically and spiritually, thereby preparing them for future success, whether in higher education or other endeavors. Tuition
PCA offers a ten and twelve month payment plan for tuition and fees. Tuition for Prattville Christian Academy is competitive with other local private schools.
Funding
Unlike some private schools, our funding does not come from a large foundation that dictates our decisions. Instead, we are exclusively funded by tuition and fees gathered from students and by private donations from people like you who are interested in developing a strong Christian school in our area. This helps us to be more flexible and responsive to the needs immediately facing our students and their families.
Grades
Grades PreK-4 through 12th grade are being offered.
Goals
Our goals are simple and straightforward: to provide quality, Bible-based education in a wholesome environment; to nurture the spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth of each student; and to prepare qualified students for the future without preference to race or national origin.
We seek to provide a quality, Bible-based education in a wholesome environment. Our children's minds are expanding and filling with information at an extraordinary rate. Unfortunately, many find themselves hindered by today's public education environment. Our goal is to foster learning in a place where children's horizons can expand without the distractions that sometimes accompany the educational experience. At PCA, the focus is on personal excellence, individual attention, and godliness. It has been our experience that when priorities are in place, learning flows freely and naturally.
We seek to nurture the spiritual, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth of each student. Our educational goals for PCA students are multi-dimensional. It is not enough simply to teach children information. We must try to develop the whole child. We believe that learning in a Christian environment helps to fulfill not only academic needs, but also promotes self-awareness, confidence, and a strong conviction to live for God. These qualities are hallmarks of the well-adjusted child, and it is what we strive for at PCA every day.
We seek to prepare qualified students for the future without reference to race or national origin. Jesus taught and lived unconditional love for all people, regardless of their ethnic backgrounds. That is our goal at PCA.
Our Teachers
Caring, State-Certified Teachers are foremost among the many benefits that a PCA education can provide. PCA has been blessed to attract the interest of some of the most talented and devoted Christian teachers in this area. From this group, we have chosen those teachers whose hearts and minds were most completely focused on helping children to obtain maximum results not only in the classroom, but also in life. Much has been asked of this faculty, and they have delivered every time. With a tremendous combination of youth and experience, we believe that our teachers are second to none.
Our Course of Study
The PCA course of study uses various curriculums including traditional classes in math, language arts, social studies, and science. We utilize recognized curriculum taught with a Christian perspective, which demonstrates quality and structural flexibility. In addition to core academics, PCA offers instruction in physical education and the liberal arts, such as music, art, drama, and foreign language. Bible class, as well as chapel, is part of each student’s day. Prattville Christian Academy does not offer a special education program.
Student Progress
Our Students' Progress is one of our highest priorities. Our teachers are not as concerned with where a student is, as with where that student is going and the efforts being made to get there. Grades are sent home with the students four times per year, every nine weeks. Standardized tests help evaluate progress in key areas. Our teachers closely monitor each student's progress and conduct, and can be expected to send parents interim reports and request periodic parent-teacher conferences. These additional points of communication are not only to notify parents of problems, but may also be to provide encouragement or share joyful news. Either way, parent-teacher communication is a valuable tool for our teachers, who deeply appreciate and share in parents' concern for their children.
Our Hope is that you share our excitement as we anticipate the growth of Prattville Christian Academy in the 2006-2007 school year and for years to come. We are looking for students from families who share our dreams for this community and are willing to join us in our quest to make those dreams a reality.
