Athletics
Athletics are
a very important part of our goal of nurturing the overall
development of PCA students. PCA offers daily physical education
classes for all students. In the fall months, students
participate in rigorous Presidential Fitness Testing, the goal
of which is to test and improve the total physical fitness of
students. As a member of the Southern Athletic Christian
Conference, PCA also offers interscholastic athletic competition
for boys and girls in the 6th through 12th grades in such sports
as football, baseball, golf, track, volleyball, basketball, soccer, and softball. In only its
sixth year of existence, PCA is already building a reputation
for fielding spirited and successful athletic teams. During the
Fall of 2003 PCA opened a new Gym. Click

Computer Technology
Computer Technology provides PCA students with opportunities
that are unparalleled in the Autauga-Elmore area. We are pleased
to offer the "Futurekids" curriculum, whereby students are
guided by a specially trained, state-certified instructor in
areas such as word processing, internet education and research,
database creation, and publishing. This unique program is
designed to enhance learning for students at every level, in
conjunction with the academic curriculum set forth by the
teachers, who have also received specialized "Futurekids"
training. The program is offered on a weekly basis, and the
computer lab is also available during the week for individual
enrichment, composition and research. Dr. Mac Adkins, a
member of the PCA Board of Directors, provides leadership in the
area of the integration of technology into the curriculum.
Dr. Adkins was one of the authors of
The Alabama Course of Study: Technology which is used by
all public schools in the state of Alabama.
Several of the Prattville Christian Academy
faculty use the service of
SchoolNotes.com to distribute information about homework and
other assignments to faculty.

Field
Trips
Field trips
are an important part of each child's educational experience. At
Prattville Christian Academy (PCA), great effort is made to
expose children to a variety of educational opportunities
located just beyond the walls of the school right here in our
area. With greatly appreciated help from parents, we have been
able to bring to life concepts of science, history, and even
mathematics, filling PCA students with a sense of wonder and
adventure not gained in any classroom.
K-4 Program
A full-day K-4 program is offered to meet the
early developmental
needs of your child.
Before-School Care
Before-school
is available from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. each day. Students
arriving between 7:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. are supervised in the
lunchroom by our before-care staff. Participation in the program
may be on a regular, infrequent, or emergency basis, as needed,
with a cost of $5.00 per day and a maximum monthly cost of
$80.00 per child. Students are supervised between 7:30 a.m. to
8:00 a.m. at no charge.
After-School Care
After-school
care is available from 3:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. each day. Our
after-school staff supervises the students in a loosely
structured setting that allows children to more fully explore
classroom materials, catch up on homework, or spend additional
time playing with friends. Participation in the program may be
on a regular, infrequent, or emergency basis, as needed with a
cost of $7.00 per day and a maximum monthly cost of $120.00 per
child.
